Pictures of Shinagawa Roppongi in Tokyo

Here are some pictures I took today from Tokyo.
I posted them all directly on Picasa website, instead of posting here because it seems to be easier to see pictures there than here.

I hate Japan because....

This is my attempt at humor.... I am terrible at telling jokes, usually nobody laughs at them. Except myself.

It is too bad when nobody laughs at your jokes.
It is worse when you are the only one that laughs at your jokes.
It is the worst when people laughs not at your jokes, but at you.

I hate Japan because.... there are too many Japanese people in here!!!!!!!!!

I hate Japan because....  there are too many people in here!!!!!!!

I hate Japan because....  there are no blonde girls in here!!!! (interested in me, I mean)

I hate Japan because.... everywhere I go I feel like Spam in a can!

I hate Japan because....Japanese people think I am Japanese!

I hate Japan because....Japanese people think I am Chinese!

I hate Japan because....Japanese people think I am Korean!

I hate Japan because....Japanese people think I am alien! (All foreigners in Japan are actual aliens!! We have an alien registration card to prove it ! )

I hate Japan because....Japanese people think I am retarded!

Just to clarify, I am Brazilian, but nobody in the world treats me as Brazilian. Brazilian people think I am Japanese!! Japanese people treat me... well as anything except Brazilian.

Ok, I am done! I had thought of some other jokes but I think I forgot... Let's move on!

You know you are getting old when.... you watch "I dream of Jeannie" and Mrs Bellows looks hotter than Jeannie!!

You know you are getting old when.... you think: who the HELL is Lady Gaga??

You know you are too young when... you don't know who Madonna is! (ha, ha that joke is lame! Surely even young people know who Madonna is...)
.
You know you are getting old when.... you don't feel embarassed renting porn.

You know you are getting TOO old when.... you DO feel embarassed renting porn!
(Don't you think you are too old to watch porn?? Don't you think porn is for children? I mean, not children, but younger, more vigorous people?)

You know you are getting TOO MUCH old when.... you realize you are still renting porn! (instead of doing the real thing!)

You know you are getting old when... you are excited to go to bed.... to sleep!

Just to clarify this is not adult content!! I hope Blogger/Google/U.S. Government/Starfleet don't flag me as inappropriate to humans....

Boring random notes

So what? Today I have uploaded one more video on YouTube. It has been a long time since my last video in Japanese. I hope to get some more comments this time. My camera is broken, can't shoot a video. But I still can make videos with Windows Movie Maker with sound and pictures.

Tomorrow I need to go to the hospital to see the results of my routine medical exam. Will it show anything? The only thing I did was an urine and blood test. You can't possibly diagnose anything with only these 2  tests. I could be dying and the tests may still come normal.

I come back home everyday from work so tired I can't do anything useful. The only thing I did today was make the new video. As always the video was less-than-perfect... I am never satisfied with my videos, but I already spend too much time editing them. And more editing don't make them better...

There was an error while fetching stats. Please reload page".

Movie script: Absolute power

Sometimes I imagine if I could be a movie director and make some film. The first problem is the script. What kind of story should the film be about?

I had thought of a story of 3 sisters, with super-powers, able to fly and immortal. Ok, I confess, I spent my childhood reading too much comic books.
And my story seems to come right out of a comic book.
What if you were immortal and had super-powers, what would you do?

Sister number 1 decides to save humanity and bring peace to the world.
Sister number 2 decides to become human, to get married, have kids and lead a normal life.
Sister number 3 decides to solve the mystery of their origin, and sets out on a jorney to search their parents and the story about their birth.

Hundreds of years later, sister 1 becomes Empress of the world, the most cruel and ruthless tyrant the world has ever seen, willing to slaughter any opposition without hesitation.

Sister 2 utterly forgets she is immortal and after the death of her husband and family she lives alone in a decrepit house in the middle of the forest, wasting the days remembering the happy days when her husband and kids were alive, waiting for the time she dies and is finally able to rejoin her family, waiting for a death that never comes.

Sister 3, after hundreds of years travelling all over the world looking for any clues about her origin, finally returns to rejoin her siblings. She has made one startling discovery, that they are not actually immortal, that there is only one way for them to die:  by killing one another.
However she lost her sanity completely and returns determined to destroy her sisters.

There is no need actually to be 3 women, it could have been 3 guys, but I like female characters, and in my movie I'd like to have  all the lead characters as female.

Why the power to fly? Because I like films like Superman? Again because of the visuals, visually it would be very exciting to have 3 beautiful actresses with the ability to fly. We don't have many films like this... Superman is a guy, Matrix is also a guy. In X-Men Storm can fly but her flying sequences are very poor. There are very few films with leading female characters with super-powers.

Why immortality? It has to do with the plot, and the end of the film, where it is revealed sister 3 is not crazy, she actually knows the secret to their existence, and it has to do with the fear of death, and the ultimate challenge in life, to overcome the fear of death.

Scene 1 begins with a shot of the 3 sister as teenagers flying all over the world and having fun. It is a idyllic time. They are immortal, they can't die, they can't get hurt or harmed in any way. They can stand the heat of the deserts, the cold of the poles, they don't starve, don't need to eat nor drink. They don't get sick, don't get hurt, they can just throw their own bodies into objects and destroy the objects instead of their bodies. Their bodies are indestructible. They don't drown, they can stay as long as they want under water without breathing. They are happy and they laugh all the time.

Scene 2 is about their talk about life and future. What should they do with their lives? That is when they decide their destinies, and each chooses a different path. Sister 1, after seeing  humans killing themselves in endless wars all over the world, decides to help humanity, eliminate all wars, use her power to bring peace and prosperity to human beings. Sister 2 wants to become human, get married and have kids. Sister 3 wants to know their origin, their parents, where they came from, and understand the purpose of life. That is the moment the sisters separate.

O CVV funcionava numa pequena sala perto do Gonzaga.

Eu acho eu me sentia sem "lar".

How to write a good text (or how to be the best blogger in the world)

Sometimes I like a certain text, sometimes I don't like it.
What is the difference? What makes a text interesting and another unreadable?
Of course I have to understand the text. There may be good texts about advanced mathematics but since I don't understand them I cannot say if they are good or not.
But speaking about the texts I understand, some of them can be pretty bad. Here on blogger we have several examples of terribly written blogs. (Press the link "next blog" on top of this page. That link should be renamed to "Never click here"!!)

The main problem is: they are boring. They don't talk about a specific thing. They are random.

First and foremost, you have to put a title on the text defining exactly what you are going to talk about and stick to that subject until the end of the article (or blog or book or whatever you are writing).
Don't be random, don't change the subject. If you want to change the subject, start a new article.

Second the title needs to talk about something that people may be interested to know. For example the title of this very article: "how to write a good text" is something that people may be interested in. It is more specific than a title like "Today's thoughts".
Of course you can change the title later, but defining a title, any title, even a temporary one, helps you define what you are going to talk about, helps you be specific and not random.
And the title needs to be something that people may be interested in reading. Would you be interested in reading a text entitled "what I did yesterday"?

Why the hell am I blogging here?

Today I have to write in English.
Why write a blog? I need to remind myself why I am here writing blogs that nobody reads or cares.
I have been here for some weeks now, but nobody cares to leave comments.
It is pretty much hopeless.
Should I care?

Again why write a blog?
- I like writing, and I write anyway. I used to keep diaries, so I am used to writing.
- I need to write to practice my Japanese, English and even Portuguese. I'd like to be a good writer. It would be good to make a living by writing. Even though I have no interest in writing fiction.
- Maybe I can make money here on blogger. I don't understand much this AdSense thing. My blogs may have views but if nobody clicks on the ads, I don't receive any money...
- Maybe I can find friends here. On blogger or anywhere. On the internet. At least I have a blog. I need to have a website. It can be here, it can be anywhere. A place where I can post text and pictures.  I already have an account on YouTube, I have been posting videos, but now I feel the need to post more mundane texts. But I have noticed people on blogger don't interact much with one another. At least not so much as on YouTube. My chances of finding friends here on blogger are slim...

Let's think about the downside. Why should I stop writing blogs here?
- Finding friends on blogger is probably very difficult. Maybe you are better off on an different website, Facebook or whatever.
- Writing blogs that nobody reads may be a waste of time. Unless you write texts for yourself, just to organize the mess in your head.
- writing blogs may really be a waste of time. How much time do you waste writing blogs? What do you expect to accomplish with this?

Some onsens in Japan are unisex,
where men and women can go in naked together,
